Policy of Screening for Plagiarism Process
Biomaterials Translational strives to maintain academic integrity in publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened for plagiarism prior to publication using iThenticate (http://www.ithenticate.com/). A manuscript will be rejected immediately if considered by the Editorial Office as a work of plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
Cases of plagiarism will be handled as follows:
- The complainant contacts the Editorial Office of the journal regarding suspected plagiarism in the published article.
- The complainant indicates which sections have been plagiarized by clearly referring to both the original and suspected articles.
- The Editorial Office conducts an investigation, and the corresponding author(s) of the suspected article will be contacted.
- The corresponding author(s) will be asked to provide an explanation.
- With the inputs and explanation of the corresponding author(s) of the suspected article, upon verification, either a correction via erratum or a retraction will be initiated to remedy the situation.
- In the case of nonresponse from the corresponding author(s) of the suspected article within the stipulated time or an unsatisfactory explanation, the article may be permanently retracted.
